Addiction

I am so pleased for a friend of mine.  She has battled for years with a cocaine addiction, I didn't know for a long time. I should have, late night requests for money.  She has had counseling for this addiction for some time, but despite wanting to stop, was always going for another fix.  Dealers don't make it easy, they are always there on the phone offering their goods.  Much of the problem for her was she lives alone.  As she said she never took the stuff while I was around.

Why am I so pleased?  She is almost half way through her rehab.  She has been there now for over 6 weeks, and by all accounts doing well. No mean feat, she has never been away from her children for so long, and will be away from them at Christmas as well.  She is looking at her life from childhood to present and wants to turn her life around, get some qualifications and start life afresh.  I am so pleased for her and I really wish I could be with her to support her when she leaves rehab.

  1. I hope she gets just as much support from professionals after she leaves rehab too.

You are a good friend to her Elrond. I wish her luck and hope she reaches all her goals.
