Inaccurate reporting from the BBC

This article appeared on the BBC, which in the last paragraph contained an inaccurate statement.

Cracking Down on Kerb Crawlers

I would like to comment on an inaccuracy in the article written by Chris Robinson that appeared on the 22nd concerning Cracking Down on Kerb Crawlers.
The last paragraph states.

The Policing and Crime Act, designed to tackle crime and disorder, received Royal Assent on 12 November, 2009. It includesa new offence of paying for sex with a prostitute who is controlled for gain, alongside changes to loitering offences, kerb-crawling offences and brothel closure orders.

This is inaccurate. The original drafted law includes a new offence of paying for sex with a prostitute who is controlled for gain. This was changed during the parliamentary reading, to uses force, threats (whether or not relating to violence) or any other form of coercion, or practises any form of deception.

This is entirely different to control for gain. Case history on control for gain covers all escort agencies and brothels, where money is taken, and the agency takes a booking. There was much pressure brought to change this clause behind the scenes from the ECP and the IUSW and many others. If that clause control for gain had gone through, then all paid sexual encounters with escorts from agencies and massage parlours would have broken the law.

Now with the wording which was changed during the parliamentary process, very few women working for agencies, and brothels would be covered by the new wording. Most women working in prostitution are working to make money for their families and children for economic reasons, and are not coerced, but they are controlled for gain because they have chosen to work for an employer. The employer (escort agency is still liable for prosecution, as they have always). Why an escort should be singled out not to have a choice of working for a legal employee is an amazing state of affairs and should be looked into. Appears to me to breach their human rights.

I am glad you mentioned the ECP. But please when you quote the legislation that is about to be implemented, please get it correct. There is a huge difference between 80% of clients being criminal (control for gain) and a handful under the new yet to be implemented legislation.

I hope you correct the article and issue a retraction on this very important point. I expect more from my BBC taxation.

Rachael of Blair Street

I went to Blair Street sauna looking for some solace, I was really quite down for some reason or other.

Possibly because I was not going to be in Edinburgh next week, and I had to cancel Martin Wishart’s restaurant in Leith.  Modern French

Maybe it was because of the idiots in power who seem to go out of their way to harm women in what ever way they can.  If women don’t follow the agenda of those in power, then draconian laws are put in place to protect them from themselves.

The third possibility was the previous evening had not quite worked quite as well as I had planned.  No I was not jealous my friend had gone on to see a client, but I was worried for her after she came back to see me.  She went of home and I was not able to contact her for 36 hours.  I was distraught.  OK she lost her phone in the car.  That night I ate in the hotel and sampled a few glasses of wine, but before I went to seek some solace…..

She Rachael arrived, looking demur.  She has a unique accent, mixture of Southern Irish and Southern English.  I had been intrigued by the accent, and the mixture of upbringing explained all.

She is fair skinned, though trying to tan up with fake tan.  I expect she can’t use solariums, her skin is fair, her hair is ginger and her pubic hair was very pale.  She apologised for not being cleanly shaven, only trimmed when I went down on her.  No problem the fine and fluffy pale hairs on her were a real turn on for me.

Figure wise she is very slim and quite petit, quite small breasts, probably a B.  I would be guessing her age must be 21ish.  Yes dirty old man syndrome,  someone younger than your own daughter.

She was nice and I enjoyed my time with her.  She has worked else where and may be an adultwork.  I shall have a check and report back.

On leaving I chatted with the doorman, asked him about the potential law change.  He appeared pretty clued up, was interested that the last date for submissions of evidence was on Thursday.  He mentioned that Margo had made some amendments of her own.  He reckoned it was going to be an interesting time.

On the other side of the fence

I had an interesting experience today.  At least as a punter watching a lady ply her trade, but not with me.  I had taken said lady out for dinner, her birthday.  As the dinner started she took a call and a booking.  It was very close by to where I was staying, and it was timed so that we could finish our meal together. From my view I was not jealous or perturbed in any way.  I was more interested in her reaction.  As the time approached she became very focused on the job  to come.  Dinner was running late, so my priority dropped and you could sense the excitement and exultation in the air, and the professionalism, was she dressed well enough for the session, (no pretty lingerie as she was out for a traditional date with me).  She 5 minutes before the appointment, plenty of time to get to the hotel.

The long and short of it was I was left on my own in the restaurant, with odd sidelong glances from the waiter and waitress.  Had I been dumped, had there been a big argument.  I admit I was so tempted to say I was her pimp, and that she had gone off to work.  I didn't, mainly because I eat there regularly in that restaurant.  I was though oh so tempted.

Criminalising sex buyers and indoor sex workers in Scotland

I had the opportunity of meeting with Scotpep.  Scotpep were an outreach organisation for prostitutes in Scotland.  Alas their small funding was removed, and probably given as part of a huge funding to the anti prostitution brigade to peddle their lies.  Now Scotpep is a campaigning organisation for the rights of sex workers. One wonders what a transformation to the lives of under privileged sex workers would have been if all the resources given to the anti organisation had been available to them.  Glasgow city council has given 21 million to the stop prostitution now campaign, and they have no idea where the money has been spent.  A Freedom of Information request was made to them, and all that came back was we have no records.  What a fucking cover up.

I spent 90 minutes with the wonderful lady Ruth Morgan Thomas.  She is an ex prostitute and was very enlightening on the way prostitutes work, the networks  amongst different foreign workers and especially the Thai women.  She was also enlightening on the underhand way this major change to the Scottish police bill has been made at the last minute, so precluding all proper debate and evidence gathering.  Scottish democracy is in real danger.

Swiss prostitutes armed with defibrillators

I had to laugh at this at first, but then its a good point.  It is one advantage of well run and legalized brothels.  The health of the clients and  sex workers can be managed in an environment where you are not faced with random closure.

Prostitutes in the picturesque Swiss lakeside town of Lugano are adding defibrillation to their list of services following the death of several elderly punters whose hearts just couldn't take the pace.

Gigi at Blair Street

A quick 30 minute to Blair Street Sauna to meet up with Gigi again.  A lovely French Black women who I had the pleasure to meet the previous week.

Blair Street was extremely busy today.  All the girls were working when I arrived, and there were a couple of other men waiting.  Though when I had finished there was some women in the waiting room.  I must have arrived at a very busy moment.  I hope they do well and make the women lots of money.  They deserve it.

Blair Street and Gigi

I had the honour of meeting Gigi at Edinburgh Blair Street Sauna.  Gigi apparently has worked in Blair Street for almost two years.  I must have just missed her when I finished working with in Edinburgh a while ago.

Gigi is black, and French and from France.  Her parents are from Africa.  She is nice, chatty and we got on pretty well.

Lacy and Hanams

Lacy came over for a meal, so we went to Hanams, a restaurant in Edinburgh.  We started off with a shared mixed platter of  nibbles, hummus etcetera.  I can’t name much of the food we ate. After the meal we went back to my hotel where we cuddled, kissed and made love.   I also took some photographs of ourselves which will be published on her private Adultwork gallery in due course.

Daisy Blonde Escort of Edinburgh

Today I visited Blair Street Sauna in Edinburgh.  I was there a few weeks ago, but other than that visit it has been well over a year.

I chose Daisy, she is blonde has lovely soft skin and is incredibly attractive and slim with a reasonable size breast.  She is chatty in a sensible way.  Lovely Girl Friend, would love to take her out for dinner.  I must ask her one day.  Despite not seeing her for 18 months, she remembered me, and remembered private aspects of my life we had discussed almost two years before.  I know I am nothing to her, but she did make me feel so special by the way she still knew me.

Down in the room, she does a real GFE.  We went straight into kissing and cuddling, and then we launched ourselves onto the bed to continue kissing amongst our giggles of delight.  Her pussy is delicious as I gently licked it.  Finally she came and the shudders in her body and her squeezing my head between her legs was ample reward for me.

Finally my turn to come as I made love to her in missionary position.  Yes Daisy is renowned for her GFE, and she has not lost her touch after 18 months.

Daisy, and Blair Street Sauna did not let me down, and the guy on the entrance really does look after the girls working there, and he know chats to me.

Law on trafficked prostitutes in force 'within months'

Why the headline, from the reported article on Yahoo says trafficked I have no idea.  Its to do with any women (sex worker) coerced into prostitution.

The laws on sex work in England and Wales are due to change.  Having gone through parliament, the lords and given the Royal Seal of approval, there is still a wait while the logistics of implementing the laws are thought through.  Will there be enough time before the general election.

The following article surfaced, which suggests that some of the laws will not be implemented before the election.  Alas the media only consider the prosecution of the client in these articles.  Most of us who know the sex industry consider the closure of brothels, and the greater remuneration to the police force  when brothels are prosecuted, as a greater risk to the safety of prostitutes.  The police get 50% of all cash found, and 25% of other assets. A very sure incentive to put women at risk.  To think this policy is endorsed by those parliamentarians who have women’s safety at heart is laughable.

Law on trafficked prostitutes in force 'within months'

A new law that criminalises people who pay for sex with trafficked prostitutes may be brought into force "within months".

Home Office minister Alan Campbell told the joint committee on human rights that the police and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) are "working closely" to ensure the law "is usable and will get convictions".

He said there may be a high-profile advertising campaign to "send out the message" about this new strict liability offence, which formed part of the Policing and Crime Act 2009.

I hope so too, because there is so much ignorance of the laws on prostitution.  In fact this could increase the demand, even on Punter Net you get people asking questions that lead me to believe they think prostitution and the purchase of sex is already illegal and has always been illegal.  This publicity will enlighten them.

Campbell admitted there had been a "prolonged" debate on the new law, but parliament had agreed it is "the right thing to do".

He said it would make clear "what responsibility falls on the men fuelling the trade" in trafficked prostitutes.

"We need to waken up men to the horrors they are part of," he added.

Andrew Dismore (Lab, Hendon) chairman of the joint committee, expressed concern that the new law would have a chilling effect on men reporting concerns about trafficked prostitutes to authorities.

Evan Harris (Lib Dem, Oxford West and Abingdon) said the new law could place women in even more exploitative situations.

He criticised the lack of an evidence base showing the law will have the desired effect.

Campbell said evidence was presented to parliamentarians and the new law was widely debated.

A very select selection of evidence was presented.  The majority view of evidence that supported decriminalisation was purposefully left out by the Government. Even research commissioned by the Government which went against the Governments views appeared after the law had gone through the third reading.  No wonder the country is so fed up with the manipulation of statistics by Government, and the total lack of honesty in discussing the opinions of the experts in the field.

Fiona Mactaggart (Lab, Slough) asked if the impending election could impact on the roll-out of an advertising campaign about the new law.

Campbell said he is "not enormously confident" that the law will come into force before the election, which must be held by June.

"We are heading towards purdah," he said, a reference to the consciously non-partisan stance taken by civil servants in the run up to an election.

This is an interesting comment, Campbell appears to believe the law may not be implemented by the time the election is held.  What happens in this case, does the next parliament then implement the law, or can it just be forgotten.

The minister said chief police officers and the CPS will be consulted about how best to target a campaign, such as placing adverts in men's toilets at service stations.

Umm, don’t think I ever visit a men’s toilet in a service station before I go on a punt.  Maybe the toilet in my hotel.

The Earl of Onslow (Con) asked if the Home Office has considered setting up an anonymous hotline where people can report suspected trafficked prostitutes.

Campbell said it had been discussed, but it may be more appropriate to ensure existing hotlines are properly advertised rather than replicate them.

He said people could use Crimestoppers hotline to report suspected trafficked persons.

Sensible suggestion, but please remember that the arse of the new law says promising to pay for sex, and then realising the women you are about to have sex with is coerced, and you don’t have sex with her is still a crime.  So make sure the call is really anonymous, and from an unregistered phone and sim card.

Lord Dubs (Lab) asked how many trafficked people who are discovered by the authorities are changed with asylum offences.

Campbell said that victims should not be charged and children who have been trafficked are put in the care of a local authority.

He said the approach to trafficking is "victim-centred" but there are more complex cases where people claim to be trafficked and were not.

Others do not realise they have rights as a trafficked person or develop 'Stockholm syndrome' and come to relate to their captors.

Many victims don’t realise their rights, and many victims can also be here illegally and with the inevitable fear of the authorities will not admit to be coerced.  So many victims are just bundled up and sent back to their homes on immigration charges.

Dismore asked about the Olympics and prostitution.

Campbell said there is "an assumption" that there will be an increase in prostitution around a major sporting event such as the Olympics, but many of those women may come from surrounding areas and are not necessarily trafficked.

He said the Met police are aware of the issue and focused on it.

That is a very honest statement from Campbell.  I for one have not quite figured out the financial benefits of setting up brothels, buying the women, advertising the women all for an event that lasts two weeks.  Even the world cup that goes on for what seems ever attracted very little extra prostitution  and  almost no trafficking in Germany.

The Guardian publishes a correction on Rahila Gupta

Rahila Gupta wrote an ill informed piece about trafficking and the article written by Nick Davies.  Nick Davies article entitled Prostitution and trafficking – the anatomy of a moral panic, claimed that trafficking for sex had been exaggerated, and that the prosecutions from the Pentameter 1 and 2 police raids were evidence of this.  Alas Rahila wrote a badly researched opinion piece Sex trafficking is no illusion which  was factually incorrect.

Over three months later the Guardian has seen fit to mention this in its corrections section.

I give you a small taste of what they say, please read the whole article on the Guardian.

Gupta was wrong to say that Davies did not mention a home affairs committee report published in May last year (he referred to it twice in his page 6 article) and her claim that the report "gave an estimate of 5,000 trafficked women and children in the UK based on an aggregation of the figures provided by those working in this field" was incorrect. The 5,000 estimate covered all forms of human trafficking, including forced labour, and was not confined to the sex industry. The home affairs committee report referred to several figures and said there was currently no agreed estimate of the scale of sex trafficking into the UK. Gupta's assertion that Davies "only quoted sex-workers who feel their right to work as prostitutes is under attack" was not strictly accurate. Davies reported, in general terms, objections from sex workers to government proposals, but he did not quote any sex workers.

West Yorkshire and Vixen

A trip up North to see a West Yorkshire and Bradford Escort where I met up with Busty Vixen for a short and fun NSA liaison.  At one time I was worried she might not be able to make it,  there was this slippery white coating of snow on the ground, and more appeared to be falling all the time.  Luckily it lasted a short time, and the road remained passable.

She arrived, and  we had enough time for some fun and frolics in the warmth of the hotel room, while it snowed outside.  Well it had snowed, and it was cold outside.  Alas no chance of her being marooned for the night in my bed.
